The 1W High-Power Infrared Transmitter Module is designed for long-range IR communication and smart home control applications. Unlike standard low-power 5mm IR LEDs that have limited range, this module utilizes a high-power 1W 940nm IR LED to transmit signals across much larger distances. It is the perfect solution for building universal remote controls, smart furniture controllers, and IR illuminators for night-vision cameras.
Equipped with an onboard transistor driver circuit, this module allows microcontrollers like Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi to safely control the high-power LED. Standard microcontroller I/O pins cannot supply the high current required by a 1W LED; this module solves that problem by using the input signal (IN) to switch the onboard transistor, drawing power directly from the 5V supply rail. This ensures stable operation and protects your development board from overcurrent damage.
