The ADUM1402ARWZ is a high-performance quad-channel digital isolator based on Analog Devices' patented iCoupler® technology. This device combines high-speed CMOS and monolithic air-core transformer technology to provide outstanding performance characteristics superior to traditional optocoupler alternatives. By avoiding the use of LEDs and photodiodes, the ADUM1402 eliminates concerns regarding uncertain current transfer ratios and nonlinear transfer functions, ensuring stable performance over time and temperature. Featuring a 2/2 channel configuration (two forward, two reverse), it is specifically optimized for bidirectional signal isolation in industrial field buses, motor control, and data converter interfaces. With 2500V rms isolation and integrated 3V/5V level translation, it provides a robust, low-power solution for protecting sensitive microcontroller logic from high-voltage environments.
Features:
- iCoupler® Magnetic Isolation: Offers 2500V rms protection with lower power and higher reliability than optocouplers.
- 2/2 Bidirectional Channels: Two forward and two reverse channels for efficient bidirectional data transfer.
- Integrated Level Shifting: Supports 2.7V to 5.5V operation on either side for seamless 3V/5V translation.
- High Noise Immunity: Common-mode transient immunity of >25 kV/μs ensures data integrity in noisy industrial settings.
- Low Power Operation: Consumes 1/10th to 1/6th the power of optocouplers at comparable data rates.
- Industrial Grade Reliability: Rated for high-temperature operation up to 105°C in a 16-lead wide-body SOIC package.
