The DAC0832LCN is an advanced CMOS 8-bit multiplying digital-to-analog converter designed for high-speed performance and easy microprocessor interfacing. Part of the popular DAC0830 series, it features a double-buffered architecture that allows a processor to write a new value into the input latch without disturbing the current analog output, enabling simultaneous updates in multi-DAC systems. Utilizing a high-precision silicon-chromium R-2R resistor ladder, it provides excellent temperature tracking and a fast $1 \mu s$ settling time. The device is fully TTL and CMOS compatible and operates on a single 4.5V to 18V power supply. Housed in a 20-pin DIP package, it is a versatile choice for digitally controlled gain circuits, function generators, audio signal processing, and industrial control systems.
Features:
- Double-Buffered Inputs: Permits simultaneous updating of multiple DAC outputs.
- Microprocessor Compatible: Direct interface with 8-bit buses (8080, 8051, Z80, etc.).
- Ultra-Low Power: CMOS design consumes only 20mW, ideal for portable instruments.
- Glitch-Free Performance: Optimized internal switches ensure smooth analog transitions.
- Stable Precision: Silicon-chromium resistor network ensures 0.05% FSR linearity tracking.
